American-Palestinian Teenager Released Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian teenager having endured 270 days in Israel's custody without being charged has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention in February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

American diplomatic officials applauded the news of Mohammed's release.

Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care right after being freed, family members reported.

Family described him as visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.

Through an official statement, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, we're concentrating on getting Mohammed prompt healthcare he requires after being subjected to harsh conditions and inhumane conditions over several months."

American authorities said it would continue to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.

{"The Trump Administration has no higher priority than the safety and security of US citizens"," officials stated.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers submitted a formal letter to the state department and the White House, urging greater action for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business from Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.

There were no visits or communicated with his son since February, learning information solely regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.

He stayed absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty for major terrorist activities including killings.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative Sayfollah Musallet.

The dual national youth per medical officials was beaten to death by radical settlers amid clashes last July.

Initially, military authorities reported authorities were looking into information regarding a civilian had been killed.

The two cousins had worked together at their family's ice cream business from Tampa.

No indictments occurred with Sayfollah's killing.

"We demand US authorities to protect our families," family representatives emphasized.
